Curriculum
What They'll Learn
The curriculum starts with movement and control, then adds simple technique as each child is ready.
Movement
Rolling, bridging, balance, and other foundational movements that build body awareness.
Position & Control
Simple BJJ positions introduced progressively, with control and partner safety first.
Safe Escapes
How to move calmly, create space, and return to a safe position.
Partner Practice
Structured drills that reinforce listening, cooperation, and respectful contact.
Focus & Confidence
Small, repeatable wins that help children stay engaged and trust their progress.
Character Development
Patience, respect, perseverance, and sportsmanship practiced throughout class.
Progression
Belt System
Our structured belt system gives students clear goals and a sense of accomplishment as they progress. Youth BJJ uses a separate belt pathway, with progress recognized through consistent practice, developing skill, and character.
There is no promise of a promotion on a fixed date. Coach Stephen looks at the whole child and celebrates meaningful milestones along the way.
